Raisins most appreciated are obtained from the varieties without seeds, occurring in different parts of the world. The varieties Thompson and Sultanas (Turkey) are the same, but are given different names according to the place of cultivation. They are mainly used to consume as a dessert, in different recipes, in sauces and biscuits. Currants come from black grapes without seeds and are native to Greece. The raisins of malaga come from the muscatel grapes with seeds and are dried in the sun.
