The Carilla bean, adopts very different and varied names throughout the Spanish geography being also called: peas, frijuelos, dolls with vest, black-eyed bean, hare-eyed bean, partridge eye, ferile beans, fesolet, carahota, etc. It is a small, dark white-beige bean with a black dot on the embryo that characterizes it. The Alubia Carilla is consumed throughout Spain and especially in Extremadura. It serves both for the preparation of beans in salad, stewed beans and to be used as a side dish.
